I think every week in this class I was required to complete assignments that made me demonstrate AECT Standard 1 - Content Knowledge. Every project I completed, I had to create instructional materials, demonstrate my ability to choose appropriate resources for my lessons, and assess the integration of that technology through my blog.
While I have always used technology in my classes to an extent, I don't think I ever understood the best/correct way to implement technology or the reasons why it should be used in some instances but not others. This class has changed that for me and is a major reason I have grown professionally. You shouldn't use technology just to use it, you should have a specific purpose for each piece of technology you implement. As an educator going forward, I believe I will have more resources to choose from because of the readings and resources provided in this class. I will also be able to use those tools more effectively to engage my students and make their learning more equitable.
This class was the first class that I have taken where I had to create a blog. I have never blogged before, so this was a very new experience to me. I feel like I met most of the criteria for outstanding or proficient in most of my blog posts. I responded to other student's blogs on time. I feel like I synthesized the content rather than regurgitating information from the readings. I also think I had some good self reflection in my own blog and my responses to other blogs because often times I learned a lot from my peer's blogs. If I had any weaknesses it would probably be in using readings and citing those readings to back up my ideas in my blogging. I would probably give myself 130 points for my final blogging grade.
